The next big mod

So, after some careful consideration, I've decided to change the injectors, mod the intake and install a header assembly in search of the infamous horsepower I spoke of in the very first post. The header (figure 1) finally got here and I want to make a small mod to it (figure 2).

New fender flares

So, I'd been checking these flares out for almost 2 years now. I finally came across them at a great price and just could not resist buying them. They are the Xenon Flat Fender Flare kit and I whole heartly love them. They actually make the Jeep look higher.

The first modifications.

So, when I first got this, the motor was completely stock and had 125,000 miles on it. The first thing it got was a new motor and transmission. Of course, the rebuilt trans was not done right and failed 6 months afterwards. But it was a start. After that came the suspension lift, 2.5" spring lift only, no body lifts. Very nice system by Rough Country Suspensions. But the real mods under the hood start just after these.

1) I put on a Flowmaster muffler and high flow Dynamax Cat. These alone made a noticeable difference in performance.
2) 63MM Throttle Body that I bought on Ebay and a Cold Air Intake system. These also made a noticeable increase in performance. I still need to open the intake hole at the TB for the 63MM body. Kind of have a restrictor plate there currently.
3) The next mod has not showed up yet, but I hope to see it in the next couple of weeks. I will keep you posted.

The beginning of my project.

I wanted to share the story of my Jeep YJ build. I realize there are a lot of these vehicles out there and quite a bit of them are configured like mine:

2.5L Engine
5 spd AX5 Transmission
30 Dana Front axle
35 Dana Rear axle
As most of you who have the 4 banger know. We don't have a lot of horsepower with the factory configuration. This is where my journey began. Determine to find more horsepower from this power plant. So the following posts are about the effort.
